Kodak is introducing dual lenses on the Easyshare V570 so that users don’t have to choose between Zoom and (ultra) Wide-Angle. Depending on the situation, it will be possible to pick the lens that will do the best job. It’s a pretty neat concept that will probably alleviate these issues that consumers sometimes experience, without introducing expensive add-on lenses. Using proprietary KODAK RETINA Dual Lens technology, the elegant V570 camera wraps an ultra-wide angle lens (23 mm) and an optical zoom lens (39 - 117 mm) into a small, sleek package less than an inch thin.
Samsung’s new Miniket photo SDC-K50 is capable of receiving T-DMB on its 2.5” LCD screen. The SDC-K50 comes with a 5 megapixel CCD, 3x optical zoom, and can record MPEG4 video in 640 x 480 resolution @ 30fps. When devoid of entertainment, you can listen to MP3s on it. Rumors abound that Pentax and Samsung have started working on a new digital SLR camera under the Samsung GX1 moniker. Unofficial sources point to the GX1 being based on the Pentax *istDL camera, with no specifications in sight as at press time. Pentax’s expertise in high-performance interchangeable lenses and Samsung’s global market presence and increasing brand awareness bodes well for the GX1 when it is launched. Via
