Panasonic's Lumix DMC-FZ7 camera shoots up to ISO 1600

The upgrade to Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-FZ5 is the new DMC-FZ7. It uses a Leica lens and has a whiff of Leica-inspired design on the whole. The DMC-FZ7 packs a 6-megapixel CCD that comes with a superb 12x optical zoom. It incorporates a High Sensitivity mode as well, providing the ability to shoot up to ISO 1600. If you’re suffering from shaky hands, fret not – the built-in Panasonic Mega Optical Image Stabilizer will smoothen out those occasional shakes. Shiny Shiny via Geek Blue

Canon EOS 35D rumors abound
Rumors of a Canon EOS 20D replacement are flying back and forth on the Internet with the usual details coming under intense speculation – its name to the specification list. What are words if not accompanied by pictures? Of course, we can’t tell whether the pictures available online are doctored or not, but it is always prudent to wait for an official statement from Canon themselves regarding the existence of the Canon EOS 35D. Carl Zeiss ZF lenses for Nikon DSLR cameras

Carl Zeiss ZF lenses for Nikon DSLR cameras
Carl Zeiss has introduced new Series of ZF interchangeable lenses for Nidkon D-SLR. The ZF lenses will grant the Nikon SLR camera system with legendary image quality that is associated with Carl Zeiss. The strongest point of the lenses is that they are “fast”. It’s a term used to indicate that they capture more light. This allows the photographer to use a faster shutter speed to get crisper action photos or snap photos in darker conditions without getting blurry photos. Some people say that a faster lens can be a great substitute for an Image Stabilizer. Both Planar T* 1,4/50 ZF and Planar T* 1,4/85 ZF lenses will be available this spring, with several more to be introduced during the course of 2006. Via Let's Go Digital

Kodak V570 Hands On - CES 2006

Kodak V570 Hands On - CES 2006

We’ve mentioned it previously, but at CES, Kodak was presenting its new Retina Dual Lens Technology that opens more possibilities to the users: the 23 mm ultra wide lens lets one shoot panoramic pictures and the telephoto lens is great for close ups. To the user, the dual lens system should be almost transparent: depending of the level of zoom required the camera will switch to the most appropriate lens automatically. The other great feature is the integrated camera stitching software that creates a single 180 degrees panoramic JPG file from 3 shots. After each panoramic shot, part of the previous photo stays on-screen to be used as a reference to align the next shot. For panoramic shots this 5 Megapixel camera is much more practical than what is currently available on the market. It will ship to retail stores next week. Price: $399.
