Canon showcased its prototype digital cameras that are powered by Hydrogen Fuel Cells at an Expo in Japan recently. Currently, Canon fuel cells come with a similar volume energy density to that of the lithium ion secondary batteries of the same size. Canon is a relatively newcomer in the fuel cell development arena for portable devices, while its rival Toshiba is an old hand, having already developed a fuel cell powered MP3 player.
